Ericka Clarke began working with Mr. Louderback and his litigation team in 2007 when she joined Payne & Fears as a paralegal. During this period, she was introduced to employment law and gained a deep appreciation for the breadth and depth of labor and employment issues facing different industries today. She followed Mr. Louderback to the firm of Ongaro Burtt & Louderback, then joined him at the Louderback Law Group in 2013, where they continue their focus on employment litigation and commercial litigation.
Ericka brings an extensive background of legal experience to the firm. She attended the University of San Diego, majoring in communications, with a minor in political science. She ultimately redirected her studies to focus on her passion for computers and obtained her degree from Coleman College in San Diego in Computer Network Administration. Ericka began her career in the legal community in 1987 in San Diego, taking on all law firm administrative duties from file clerk, to legal secretary and ultimately a paralegal supporting lead trial counsel. She had the opportunity to work with a prominent plaintiff’s trial attorney, Cynthia Chihak, who educated her in the importance of thorough analysis of witnesses, documentation as well as the applicable law. During this time, Ericka honed her tenacity and passion for litigation with several medical malpractice trials as well as severe personal injuries. She refined her skills by assisting in over 20 jury trials and preparation of hundreds of civil litigation matters, including binding arbitration and bench trials.
The transition into employment and commercial litigation has enabled Ericka to focus in on her computer skills by applying her background in conducting ever growing e-discovery needs including the preservation of electronic data, forensic analysis of data storage, as well as the various examination tools for e-discovery.
